Avalyn's first comic page

Avalyn wasn't excited, she said. She was  "SUPER excited" to get her first comic book page - from Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz #1 by Skottie Young. I couldn't be happier about her reaction since. She is now reading the 3rd HC "Ozma of Oz" with her mom everynight. On every page she now needs to pick out her favorite panel. She even asked the other night how Skottie learned "to draw so good". Buying this page for her gave her a real appreciation for the work an artist does on a comic and I'm pretty darn proud of her for that!!

Her art collection (some of which is visible behind her) also features work by Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, Mark McKenna, Franco, Craig Rousseau, Rebekah Issacs, and an absolutely brilliant piece by Mouse Guard's David Peterson. Oh, and a couple by me...

Fairy

It was requested of me to draw a fairy quite some time ago.

The only stipulation was that the fairy couldn't be naked...so it took me awhile to figure out how to do that....

Casey and Raph - phase two

After a morning of working outside, I decided to beat the noontime heat and ink some of the Casey and Raph sketch from yesterday. Here's where it's at so far.

Started a new sketch this morning. Yeah... another tmnt pic. I've wanted to do a Casey Jones pick for awhile. So, this should get it out of my system! I'm pretty sure Kevin Eastman would be happy with how Casey is coming out do far. I was very suprised that Sarah had no idea who Casey Jones was. She was familiar with the cartoon growing up (which I hated). I think I read that Casey was only in the cartoon for one or two episodes. Obviously too cool a character for that cereal box series!
